Coming into his second year in the group, Charlie is blossoming into maturity as a singer and a bloke. Clearly seeing his talents more on the social side of things than the musical, he took upon the heavy responsibility of social sec this year, hoping to bring what he has learnt from this fellow hockey ‘lads’ to the TOG arena.
Sandy, as Charlie is affectionately known, doubles as a wetsuit model during the TOG off-season, as well as surfing the waves of Cornwall. He even teaches kids how to ski during the winter breaks (if only he could teach us how to sing better too…).
Able to read 6 languages, including Arabic, Russian, bass clef and treble clef, Charlie acts both as the group’s diplomat and interpreter. He can decipher whatever it is our MD is banging on about, while settling any squabbles within the group (normally the tenors). His calm presence comes through in his singing, where he is unshakeable in the group’s middle register. Sandy’s a real sweetheart – we’re lucky to have such a nice guy to help us stagger home from the socials he throws us!
