With some people you don’t really know where to start. This is the case with our South African second year, bass, vocal percussionist, alto and all round eccentric, Duncan Bristow. His credentials as an Other Guy were immediately set in stone when he accidentally slept through “multiple alarms” on the morning of his first gig. Duncan’s whereabouts the night before remain a mystery, but rumours state that once a full moon (also coincidentally the Union’s Karaoke night), he can be found howling the night away in Sandy’s Bar.
Despite these rocky beginnings, our one and only geologist has become an invaluable member of the group, especially for his metronomic beat-boxing ability that he can maintain at length amidst the chaos of one of Laurence’s arrangements. This year Duncan fills the role of Social Secretary – making him personally responsible for the output of our social media accounts. If you happen to have browsed any of them recently then please accept our most humble of apologies.
In addition to pouring heart and soul into the group Duncan still finds time to play hockey and cricket for the St Andrews first teams and his infectious positivity and enthusiasm are a huge benefit to the group. Duncan is turning into the polished diamond we all knew he would become.
