Having lost a number of Brits last year, TOG needed to stock up again on the floppy-haired, glasses wearing English gent. When Peter (Pedro) Folkes walked into his audition, hopes were raised. After hearing his angelic voice, and after some sensational question answering, the man was in. Never have there been such scenes as when Peter gave the correct answer of curry for a pre-night out meal.
Upon our discovery, we knew we had found a Tenor/Bari of dependable, stable and sensible character. Sadly, this dream was shattered days later after Peter ended up in hospital, having decided to engage in a one-sided battle with a particularly nasty bit of tarmac. The black eye he carried for weeks, and the shame forever.
A capable musician and academic, Peter is embarking on the long slog of becoming a doctor. Listen out in St Andrews to hear him singing in the library, and in the future maybe on a ward.
Always quick with the wit, smile and pint, he has shown himself to have the makings of a true TOG so early in his career, with surely great things to come.
